So what is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate Marketing is when you earn a commission from promoting a product or a service that is not yours. You are essentially the marketer for this product. The company is paying you based upon the sales they make from your advertising. This is a fantastic way to make some great passive income from products, softwares and platforms you use on the daily and truly believe in. Also talk about them a little bit first, don’t just jump into the sale. If you follow someone and they mention a product 4 or 5 times before they try and sell you it then you are bound to trust it. Where as if they come out of the blue with “BUY THIS!” then it doesn’t seem too authentic.
However I have seen been done wrong so many times. Don’t be one of those people that promotes something just due to the high commission rate. Promote only what you truly believe in and value. Also make sure it is relevant to your business or blog and that it makes sense for your audience.
Affiliate Marketing can be done through your social media by simply dropping links in Facebook groups (in a relevant way of course, and check the group rules first!). Or it can be done through relevant blog posts within your website. Some people even go as far as to create full marketing campaigns for affiliate products if their business is purely based on commissions from sales. Pinterest pins are a great way to advertise affiliate links and also blog posts for affiliate links. However please make sure you are not showing up as “spammy” to your audience. No one trusts a spammy affiliate.
