Reading Time: 4 minutesBuilding an engaged community through blogging is hard work, and if the opportunity to monetize your blog ever presents itself, grab that opportunity and make the most out of it!
Earning passive income on your Showit website is a great side hustle, and once your brand has grown, it's entirely possible to earn more than you ever thought possible. Is passive income worth your time?
Absolutely!
Passive income means making money from activities in which you have no direct or active involvement. You're still doing the work, but you're not doing any heavy lifting. Instead of spending a lot of effort on time-consuming tasks, you're letting your content do all the work for you. This, in turn, gives you more free time. Because you've got so much free time on your hand, you can focus on other aspects of your business to grow your brand even more.
While you're not spending all day making content, earning a passive income still takes effort. It's not the absence of work – you're just working smarter, not harder. By monetizing your blog, you can pursue your passions, build a trusted brand, and generate additional revenue on the side. That's living the dream if you ask me!
But here's the thing: not all passive income ideas are created equal. Some don't require much effort, while others could take more time to create and market. What's important is to choose a strategy that works for you.
With a website layout as attractive as Showit's, you won't have any trouble getting attention from paying customers. And if you're wondering what kinds of products to offer to make money off your blog site, here are some ideas:
An affiliate program is a platform that lets content creators sell products online for commissions. It's the easiest and fastest way to generate passive income from blogging because you're just adding affiliate links to your posts. The affiliate links are URLs that lead potential customers to the affiliate product. A successful sale leads to a small commission.
Some of the biggest affiliate programs are:
With this strategy, you can get a commission per click, lead, or sale. You can sell digital products only or tangible products.
As for the affiliate links, which you will add to your blog posts, these are generated automatically during signup. Should you join multiple affiliate programs to make more money? It's best to start with a curated set of products to promote so you're not working your fingers to the bone writing promotional content. Stick to products that you love!
Apart from joining an affiliate program, creating your own digital content is the most popular way to earn cash on the side through your Showit website. Digital products aren't that difficult to make because there are loads of apps that can speed up the entire process. For example, you can use free tools like Canva to create and edit photos for promotions. You can also create templates on GoogleDrive or DropBox.
If you're selling ebooks, you can create and host them for free on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), Smashwords, or Apple eBook store. You can create a web page with a direct link to where the ebook is hosted.
If you are building a membership site, you can create exclusive content to sell to subscribers. What's important here is to create promotional content highlighting the exclusive content to get people to sign up for the service. It won't hurt to throw in a freebie or two to grow your email list.
Once you have a sizable following, you can create members-only content. You can offer online classes, mini-courses, live calls, recorded interviews, one-on-one coaching sessions, and much more. You can also sell exclusive digital products like images and videos that you've designed yourself. If you're a tech wiz, you can develop plugins and software programs to sell on your Showit website. You can also hire a professional to create on-brand, exclusive products to sell on your website!
Two great options for membership sites are Memberful – which integrates with Showit, or Kajabi -which you can easily link to from within Showit; this is what I use.
Drop-shipping is similar to joining an affiliate program. You'll sign up to an online marketplace, look for products to sell, and promote products to sell from different merchants. You'll set the product's markup, dictating how much you want to earn per sale, and start creating promotional content for the products.
Once a customer orders a product from you, you'll collect the item and ship it to the customer's delivery address. You're not paying for the product until a customer buys it from you. Instead of earning a small commission with every click or lead, you're getting 100% of the profits. For dropshipping marketplaces, here are the top 5 most popular:
As for products to sell, there are so many to choose from. It's just a matter of finding great products that are worth marketing. The supplier or merchant will handle delivery, shipping, and returns, but you'll need to process these for your customers.
This is one of the oldest tricks in the book, sell prime spots on your website for ads! Online ads may come in various forms, but ad placements on blogs remain a billion-dollar industry. Just sign up for a Google Adsense account and embed the code on your blog. That's pretty much it.
Most bloggers post ads on the sidebars, within the blog posts, or at the website footer or header. Where you want to place the ads are up to you. You want to avoid posting too many ads on your site because these can distract readers from your content. The ads must never be intrusive; these should never take attention away from your blog posts.
When done right, you can earn passive income on your Showit website for a long time. With these ideas, you can earn money from your Showit website in no time.

Hi there! I just found your blog, and am specifically interested in the last paragraph about monetizing your blog with showit.
I noticed you have ads in this blog post as well. Are you using a version of showit that allows you to add the ads.txt file to be able to monetize your blog? I’d love to get into blogging, but this one piece has been the ultimate stopping point, and making me want to switch from showit to a different site. Thanks!
Hey Sara, that’s a great question. I work with so many large content creators, and we all use Showit. You can use all the large ad platforms with them like Mediavine, AdThrive, SHE Media, Google AdSense, Ezoic… You will need the advanced blog subscription, and of course an account with that ad provider 🙂
Feel free to reach out to me by email if you need any help with this.
