Reading Time: 3 minutesInstagram Reels, what is it, and how can it boost your marketing efforts? How to use it to build a stronger online presence? Here are all the tips you need to try using IG reels!
Video content is one of the most effective social media strategies because it keeps viewers engaged and promotes brand recognition. Millions of users flock to Instagram for its visually-driven content, so it's one of the best places to grow and market a business.
Whether you're aspiring to be IG famous or you've already amassed quite the following, it will do your brand a world of good if you're coming out with high-quality video content.
Now here's the thing: not all entrepreneurs have the time or skills to create incredible videos. Thankfully, there are tools out there that make video creation super easy, one of which we'll talk about today: Instagram Reels.
Instagram Reels is a new feature that lets users find “a new way to create and discover short, entertaining videos on Instagram.” It's similar to IG's Explore page, but it only presents relevant 30-second videos. Reels is IG’s version of Tik-Tok, which exploded to the scene last year.
Since its introduction, Reels has taken up about two-thirds of the real estate on the Explore page. If you're making Reels, you can edit a video or multiple videos (as long as the multiple videos have a combined length of 30 seconds). Going to the Reels page, you'll scroll down to see short videos with content that's relevant to what you're interested in. For instance, if you’re loco over makeup, all the videos that you’ll find on Instagram Reels will be beauty-related.
To access Instagram Reels, go to your Instagram Stories page and choose the “Reels” option at the bottom of the screen. You'll be presented with different editing tools on the left side of the screen.
Open the app, choose the Camera icon in the top left corner of the screen or tap the + button on the right side of your profile picture. From the bottom of the screen, choose “Reels.”
Choosing “Reels,” you have the option to create individual clips or one full video. There is a timer at the top of the screen every time you record a new video. Before uploading the video, you can edit the clip by trimming the length, add music and stickers. Then, you can save the draft of your video, choose a cover image + a caption and hashtag before hitting live.
Train and Educate: Showing your skills and expertise in a video format is definitely the best way to let people know that you’re an expert and your content deserves a follow. You can share everything from how-tos to hacks, step-by-step tutorials, and DIYs. These are the kind of topics that get a lot of mileage online.
Inspire and Entertain: You can entertain people with inspirational content. You can share meaningful videos related to health, fitness, relationships, finances, etc., any topic that’s relevant to your brand. By providing inspirational videos, you can demonstrate your skills and build a trustworthy brand.
Product Demos: IG Reels is an effective platform for product demos! You can demonstrate the products yourself, get someone to do it for you, or create tutorials. No need to talk as you demonstrate your product, just show how the product works in a 10-15 second video and that's it!
Video Shoutouts: Ask customers to share a video of your product and show the clips on Reels. You can showcase positive reviews, influencers or even give quick shoutouts to other brands to build credibility, nurture business relationships, and boost user engagement.
Add a Personal Touch: People find it refreshing and honest if business owners come out of the open to give a face to their brand. With Reels, you can do just that – interact with your followers and add a personal touch to your brand. By letting people know the face behind the brand, your business becomes more relatable. Also, people are much quicker to trust a brand if they see that there is a real person behind it.
Instagram Reels let you showcase your brand personality. Go ahead and ride the trend while growing your brand with IG Reels. Try it today and let it be a part of your existing social media strategy.
