Nucking Futs Jen, the name alone should give you a bit of an insight into Jennifer Marshall’s personality. A sarcastic (and quite frankly hilarious) mom of two who is out to live her best life. Jen runs a lifestyle blog, filled to the brim with personality.

I remember the day I first spoke to Jen, I instantly knew I wanted to use the character Vivienne for Pretty Woman as inspiration for her website. So calm and elegant on the outside, but as soon as she opens her mouth everything that comes out is just filled with personality and truth. Because of this, we have put together a clean and stylish lifestyle blog design, but sprinkled it with sassy remarks and a few wine stains.

Tell me a bit about your business and what brought you to start it in the first place?

I have a home decor/lifestyle blog & love to show people budget friendly ideas for styling their homes as well as their wardrobes.

 

What is one lesson that you wish you knew from the beginning?

I wish I would’ve known the importance of taking QUALITY photos! It is sooooooo important for first impressions! I’m still learning but hope I’ve at least improved a little in this area since the beginning!

 

What was your “AH-HA” moment that made you take the plunge into this business?

I have always enjoyed writing, and now that my teenagers don’t need me as much, I decided it was time to get back to doing what I love.

 

Out of all the amazing designers out there, why did you decide to work with us?

I had talked to a couple of other instagrammers/bloggers who had raves about your work. And upon seeing your first round of ideas for my blog, I knew that it would be a good fit. Gillian just totally “gets” me & my sense of humour. I appreciate that she really took the time to get to know me through my photos and my writing.

 

What was your favourite part of the design process?

I loved Gillian’s videos that walked me through each process step by step. They really helped me get a true feel for how my website would look.
