Reading Time: 3 minutesOver the past few months I've been working very closely with Swedish, Kent based Photographer Mikaela Svarfvar to create a brand and web design that truly speaks from her soul. Mikaela is an amazing and unbelievably friendly person who takes such beautiful photographs. Anyone would be lucky to include her in their event.
I'm a wedding & portrait photographer that is based in Kent, England. I love to get to know people and give them memories both in a products and experiences no matter where in life they are.
When I started I was pretty young, I had a rough time in school so I always knew that I had to find something that I'm good at and that really gives me that extra boost when I'm doing it. I got the great AH-HA moment every time I took a picture that was just the best one I have ever taken. People started to ask me to take their picture and shortly after I shot my first wedding. I was hooked! I love hearing about love stories, relationships and personal experiences, so for me seeing and hearing peoples stories AND taking their picture is heaven for me! My parents are entrepreneurs and have businesses, so I saw how exciting it is to work with something you love and are passionate about. I'm a dreamer and believer in many ways, mostly that I know that great things happens when you don't give up.
I regret that I didn't listen to my gut feeling enough. Those times I didn't listen would have saved me a lot of time and pain. One lesson that stands out for me the most is: Be grateful. No matter how far you are in your business, how successful you are or if you have not even started on your dream business. Don't forget to be grateful in the little things so later you will be trusted with the big things! We all have our journeys and specially today we should not forget to be grateful for who we are, what we want to achieve and what we want to become.
I have been writing journals since I was 8-9 years old and I remember that I had a AH-HA moment when I wrote down what I'm dreaming to become. I wrote that I wanted to be a journalist or a photographer, because I loved hearing peoples stories. When I started to learn about photography and the different lighting, I got excited and could not stop searching for more information. When I took pictures, especially on my family members, I could see how much it meant to me for having that picture. So combining peoples stories and to give something meaningful to my clients for them to look at – that is how I knew I wanted to work as a photographer.
I love the content, the pictures, everything Gillian does on social media and at her website! I stalked G for a while and was so excited that I found someone that is in her right element!
Just being able to work with someone that is really good in what she does, it just gave me more confidence and I could relax about the website! The logo was also fun because I feel it represents me very well.
