Where do I even start with this girl?! I was introduced to Regina about 3 years ago by a mutual photographer friend and I instantly fell in love with her. She was so freaking kind and sweet and just a lovely person to be around. We worked together on a WordPress theme customisation for her website. Since then she has grown SO much! I mean look at these amazing fine art luxury photographs! I am so proud of this girl. Regina works her butt off to give her clients such a high end experience at affordable prices, and boy does she deliver.

Since “meeting” online 3 years ago, I have had the joy of actually meeting Regina twice in person. Both times at Showit United. The second time we even roomed together. Being from the UK, she asked me if I wanted her to bring me anything special from the US. My family is (for some reason) obsessed with Cosmic Brownies, I asked for a pack, and she showed up with so many that I got questioned by airport security on my way home… Another example of her overdelivering haha.

 

 

Tell me a bit about your business and what brought you to start it in the first place?

I am an affordable luxury photographer for the individuals and couples that appreciate quality and value. My mission is to bring the luxury of high quality wedding photography to a more affordable price. To serve my couples completely to ensure that they have a stress free and fun wedding day.

I started my business, because I was that bride that sacrificed quality when I was getting married. Especially living in California, (where everything is expensive) there are no photographers that service the couples in-between affordable and luxury. I am a photographer whose price doesn't increase as the knowledge of the industry and expertise of the craft grows.

Because I work full time, I am able to charge less and give back to the community, both clients and friendors (friends/vendors). Especially in the year of 2020, I was able to host free sessions for families going through tough times, but also give to the community of photographers who are struggling to keep their business afloat and need help.

 

What is one lesson that you wish you knew from the beginning?

Oh, this is a tough one. There are some clients will try to take advantage or your heart, but there are also photographers who will try to tell you what you can and cannot do. Also, never question yourself. I have had a looooong list of people tell me that I need to raise my prices, but I won't. I know that if I do, I will lose the very reason I started my business, and it will no longer make my heart happy. Do you want to do for yourself, not for anyone else.

 

What was your “AH-HA” moment that made you take the plunge into this business?

I started talking to people who did not have a great wedding photography experience, and the common denominator is because they could not afford someone else.

 

Out of all the amazing designers out there, why did you decide to work with us?

Because Gillian is amazing!!! She listens to what you are looking for and will work with you to bring your vision to life. She came up with my logo by herself, and it is perfect; simple with a touch of elegance. Not only that, but Gillian has been behind my business since the start. She has seen my work and my business grow over the last 3 years. Also, Gillian forms a natural connection, so you never feel like just a client or number, but more like a friend! She takes the time to know your heart, your mission, and your brand. Not only that, but she works with your timeline. Whatever you need done, she does!

 

What was your favourite part of the design process?

Seeing it come to life little by little. I would send Gillian updates and snippets, and she would take my incoherent thoughts, and make it into something real. Every time we got to a big milestone, she would send me the updated “sandlot” site, and it was really good to be able to see life starting to form.
