Tell me a bit about your business and what brought you to start it in the first place?
In my early-twenties, a health diagnosis required me to make several lifestyle changes, such as switching to a plant-based and gluten-free diet and taking several gut health supplements. However, as an avid traveler and a major foodie, I promised myself that I would not let my diagnosis and lifestyle changes get in the way of continuing to pursue my passion for travel. Since my diagnosis, I have traveled solo to several countries, with a mission to discover the best plant-based and gluten-free friendly restaurants around the world! As a result, The Uncharted Gypsy was born, in order to provide insight and tips for solo female travelers and navigating travel with hormonal and gut health issues, to empower women to live their best life!
What is one lesson that you wish you knew from the beginning?
To ensure I have several blog posts finalized and lined up for posting for each of my blog categories.
What was your “AH-HA” moment that made you take the plunge into this business?
Realizing that I have the time and energy to finally invest in creating my blog. Over the years I had simply thought about creating my blog, but never went through with doing so because I was nervous and fearful I could never make it in the competitive blogging industry. However, I knew I would deeply regret not trying at least and since I now work remotely full-time, I decided now is the perfect time for me to start!
Out of all the amazing designers out there, why did you decide to work with us?
After reviewing the Instagram feed of several Blog Designers, Gillian's profile and feed resonated with me the most. I loved the blog designs she had built for other clients and the aesthetic of several of the blogs/websites she had built, seemed to fit well with the overall look and style I envisioned for my travel blog.
What was your favourite part of the design process?
Seeing my blog come to life and being heavily involved in the design process! Gillian was so patient and dedicated to ensuring the blog was designed, exactly to my specifications. She would provide me with a detailed video, to explain the revisions that were made, and always checked in with me throughout the process. She designed a beautiful blog and I cannot wait to share it with the world!
