Sincerely Elaine is a travel & lifestyle blog ran by the wonderful Elaine. She came to us looking for a fun & clean site design for her new blog. This was a super fun project as she wanted to incorporate her South African roots with her husbands dutch roots. We achieved this by sketching up a Protea flower in the Dutch style of delft and using it for detailing on her website. We also created a delft style patten in the famous blue colour for some background patterning throughout her site.
Overall, I am very proud of what the team at Gillian Sarah has been able to create based upon the initial brief. A website for a luxury lifestyle and travel blog that is unique while also being easy to navigate and read.

TELL ME A BIT ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS AND WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO START SINCERELY ELAINE IN THE FIRST PLACE?
My blog, Sincerely Elaine, is about living well from the perspective of a millennial diplomatic spouse. I write about Travel inspirations, Lifestyle favorites and Top books. Since we relocate to a new country every 3-4 years I decided to set up this blog as a sort of mobile career for me.
WHAT IS ONE LESSON THAT YOU WISH YOU KNEW FROM THE BEGINNING?
I have 10 plus years of travel photos from all over the world, but very few of them are great! I wish I had taken some sort of photography course earlier.
Also, I wish I set up my blog on WordPress from the start! I wasted 2 months creating it on another platform that does not support advertising.
WHAT WAS YOUR “AH-HA” MOMENT THAT MADE YOU TAKE THE PLUNGE INTO THIS BUSINESS?
I had designed a blog myself, but then I realized if I really wanted to be serious about my business, and gain the traction I wanted, I'd have to level up and invest in a proper designer.
OUT OF ALL THE AMAZING DESIGNERS OUT THERE, WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO WORK WITH US?
I stumbled on another diplomatic spouse's website, and my first thoughts were: WoW this looks really nice! So I scrolled down to see if I could find who designed it and found Gillian.
When I checked out Gillian's website, it ticked all the right boxes for me. I also looked at the rest of the portfolio, and thought all the designs were really pretty!
Another great plus was that I could pay off over 6 months:)
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF THE DESIGN PROCESS?
The continuous process of back and forth process of communication until the design was ‘just right'.
