Showit + WordPress: How Does It All Work?

If you already own a blog, you can simply migrate your posts, so you lose none of your precious content!

That’s because Showit and WordPress play so well together; they’re lumped together on a subscription! In fact, there are two subscription levels from Showit that offers WordPress blogs. Connecting Showit with WordPress is virtually effortless. 

Setting Up a WordPress Blog Site

Assuming that you’ve signed up for a subscription tier that comes with a WordPress blog, you’ll use two separate accounts – your Showit and WordPress account. You can use a matching username and password or use different access codes. Here is a step by step guide on setting up a WordPress blog site on Showit:

Step 1: From the Showit dashboard, go to “Site Settings > Edit > “Custom Domain.” 

Step 2: Key in your desired domain name ex: JohnDoe.com. 

Step 3: Check the settings, tick the boxes, then apply your desired setup. Check the box for “I want Showit to set up or migrate my blog.” Click “DONE” to finish up. 

Step 4: Then, in the same Site Setting Wizard, go to the Blog tab. Choose “Set Up Your Blog” and choose “Setup New Blog.”

Step 5: Fill out the blog request form with your updated registrar information, then submit it. 

The Showit team will review your request and activate your new Showit Site using your desired domain. Once the entire setup has been completed, you will be notified through email. 

If you have an existing blog site, you can keep using the domain and retain your SEO and website traffic. There’s no need to use a different domain, just submit your login to Showit and they will move it across for you. 

You can choose how both the post list and the single post look. The Post List template is where you’ll design and customize your blog archive page. It will show a shortlist of your latest post + a short excerpt followed by a “read more” button.

The Single Post is a template page where your full post is displayed. Giving you control over all the design aspects.
