Each time we had a suggestion or a change her response was the same: “No problem, Ladies. I will get that sorted right away.” We felt like we were demanding and asked a lot of her and her team, and yet she never hesitated. She always made us feel great throughout. We felt she was on our team, on our side, wanting the same thing that we wanted, a great website that we loved.
Julie & Jodie – The Design Twins
I am beyond excited to share with you one of my latest design projects, and let me tell you, it's a double dose of creativity and fun! I had the pleasure of redesigning the blog and website for none other than The Design Twins – a fantastic duo who are all about home, DIY, and delicious recipes!
The Design Twins, as their name suggests, are an amazing pair who have a passion for all things related to home décor, DIY projects, and whipping up scrumptious dishes in the kitchen. I was absolutely thrilled to collaborate with them to give their website a fresh new look, making it even more appealing and user-friendly.
One of the super cool features we added to their website is drop-down menus, making it easier than ever for you to navigate and find your favorite content. We also created a “Shop Our Favorites” section, where you can browse and shop handpicked items that the Twins absolutely adore. Talk about a convenient way to find some beautiful new additions for your home!
But wait, there's more! We also added a coupons page to their site, which is populated by a custom post type and a specially designed custom plugin. This means that you can now easily find and take advantage of amazing deals, discounts, and promotions on some of your favorite home and kitchen items. It's a fantastic way to score some great bargains and make your home even more beautiful and functional!
With its stunning new design and awesome features, The Design Twins' blog is now a one-stop destination for home inspiration, DIY projects, and mouth-watering recipes. I am so proud of the transformation, and I know that you'll absolutely love exploring their website, discovering new ideas and inspiration for your own home.
So, what are you waiting for? Head on over to The Design Twins newly revamped website, and get ready to be amazed by their creative content and beautiful home ideas. I guarantee you'll leave feeling inspired and ready to tackle your next home project!
We asked Julie & Jodie a few questions:
Tell me a bit about your business and what brought you to start it in the first place?
We are online Lifestyle influencers and bloggers covering a fun array of topics, from DIY and home projects to seasonal decor, crafts, recipes and more. We also specialize in Instagram and we love sharing all that we've learned about growing an authentic brand. We met at a conference where we were all teaching and immediately knew we wanted your talents for our blog.
What is one lesson that you wish you knew from the beginning?
We wish we had begun with more of a business attitude. We really had to get over the idea that not only are we capable of making money, but we don't have to apologize for it. When we started it was early on in the Influencing industry. It was much harder to understand our worth as creators. This has been the longest, toughest lesson to learn and evolve into.
What was your “AH-HA” moment that made you take the plunge with a new site design?
I'm not sure we had an abrupt ah-ha moment. As we mentioned above, it was a long, slow evolution. We do have mini ah-ha moments all the time, and we laugh about how long it took to get to each one. One thing about this business is that it never stops being hard. It never stops requiring a ton of work. The work is endless, and things are continually changing. We have to learn new processes almost daily.
Out of all the amazing designers out there, why did you decide to work with us?
We were lucky enough to meet you in person, sit in on one of your classes, get a glimpse at your work ethic and your brain power. Then we went online and saw several of our good friends' blogs which you designed. We were impressed with every one of them. In the end it was a very easy decision to make. We wish all our decisions were as easy as choosing you and your team.
What was your favourite part of the design process?
Of course the best part is seeing our ideas come to life even better than we could have imagined them.
