Amy – Nourishing Amy
Am I allowed to pick favourites? If so then let me tell you, this is possibly my favourite website of the year that I've worked on. We did a rebrand of the Nourishing Amy website, a vegan and plant based recipe developer. To say this site made me hungry the whole time would be an understatement!
One thing I love about this site is the custom recipe index that we built into it. This way you can filter by dietry requirement, occasion, season, and even ingredients. Such a handy tool when you have 700+ recipes on your website.
The thing that shocks me most about this site is that it was actually one of our semi-custom packages, and was built from our Laurie template. We customised it to fit Amy's website perfectly!
Tell me a bit about your business and what brought you to start it in the first place?
Nourishing Amy started as a passion project: to share my love for delicious, vibrant and nourishing vegan food. Through my website and business, I hope to share how accessible, colourful and tasty vegan cooking can be, while promoting balance in every day life. Nourishing Amy is here to encourage people to enjoy more fruits and vegetables, to try their hand at vegan baking and to explore new recipes (that will hopefully become new favourites).
What is one lesson that you wish you knew from the beginning?
I wish I knew how much time it takes to test, develop and create recipes and then the time needed for photography, videography and not to mention posting the recipes online. I wish I knew about Gillian Sarah branding when I first started my website, too!
What was your “AH-HA” moment that made you take the plunge into this business?
I started to see a growing following online and an increasing interest in vegan food and cooking, and I just had to jump right in!
Out of all the amazing designers out there, why did you decide to work with us?
From the first instance I came across Gillian Sarah online, I knew I wanted to work with you. Your website was easy to navigate and I loved how many options there were to suit everyone's budget, needs and goals. I knew I was intersted in a semi-custom website, and your range of templates, knowledge and passion was amazing. I loved how personable you appear and how quickly you responded to my first interest email.
What was your favourite part of the design process?
I loved it all! It was so easy to work together, I felt listened to and that my opinions, preferences and thoughts were fully taken on board and respected.
