When Sara came to me and asked me to do her branding for her, I was completely over the moon! I have known Sara for years and was so excited that she was starting up her own business. Of course I wanted to help her out in any which way I could and help her build the brand of her dreams! After a day of coffee's and conversations, the drafts for “Nefertem Complementary Therapies” were complete. We both took a look at them and knew they were just perfect for what she was wanting to achieve.
Sara has since gone on to open up her own therapies room for “Nefertem Complementary Therapies” in the heart of Aberdeen, and build a loving and loyal customer base. I couldn't be prouder of what she has achieved in her first year of business.

Tell me a bit about your business and what brought you to start it in the first place?
My business, Nefertem Complementary Therapies is a Holistic Complementary Therapy business where I focus on helping the whole person with various massage therapies and techniques to help establish a sense of relaxation and wellbeing which in turn promotes a more balanced body and mind which supports optimum health.
I have always wanted to help others and as a child my grandma who was a nurse in her hey day, taught me basic massage and reflexology techniques so I could help her with her pain and discomfort and also to support myself as I would get frequent pains as a child. Back then I never even thought about what I was doing I just knew that using this pressure and movements in the way helped with pain and discomfort.
It took another 18 years till I randomly looked at my local college prospectus and happened to open it at the page for Complementary Therapies that it even occurred to me that this was a way I could help people as I had previously seen for myself.
What is one lesson that you wish you knew from the beginning?
That the market would be extremely niche and just how hard it would be to try and re-educate people in how they will benefit from massage as a pillar of health and well-being as apposed to a treat or just a gift to someone for a present.
What was your “AH-HA” moment that made you take the plunge into this business?
I realised that I could make a career out of helping others feel better and it’s something I have always had an interest in.
Out of all the amazing designers out there, why did you decide to work with us?
I choose Gillian because I have followed her design journey over the years from the very beginning. We actually attended college to study graphic design together. I have seen the amazing work that she has designed over the years and as we are close friend she was also able to bring my always excitable, frantic ideas and thoughts to life! I can get extremely excited about things, as a designer Gillian know the right questions to ask to be able to get the angle needed to make your dreams come true. And that’s exactly what she did. I do believe I actually cried over the glass of wine I had in my hand when she showed me the proof of my logo for the first time.
What was your favourite part of the design process?
Seeing your idea come to life with the initial design process and seeing it grow from there.
