Reading Time: 2 minutesFor any aspiring business, your biggest concern is getting eyes on your products. You need to generate hype and make people excited to try what you’re offering. Obviously, as a new business, it can be hard to get noticed. But, there is a smart way to handle this; call upon other brands to do the promoting for you.
Essentially, this covers a range of different ideas. One that springs out is influencer marketing. Here, you’re using someone’s individual brand to promote what you’re selling. They have a massive audience that already trusts their opinion and is likely to be interested in what they promote.
Another idea is to work with other businesses to advertise your products. Again, it’s a similar concept in that you are using their clout and popularity to push your products to their audience. We’ll talk more about how you can do this in the rest of the article!
We’ll focus on three main methods here, but you can find other ideas out there!
As touched upon above, influencers have their own brands that you can use to your advantage. Here, you can offer them free gifts in return for some promotion. They try your products and talk about them to all of their followers, and you might gain some traction from it. If they love what you sell, the chances are they’ll leave a rave review and all of their followers will come swarming to your site and social channels to see what you’re all about.
This is another popular method, and it involves working with other businesses. The whole idea is typically called cross promotion in brand sampling. It’s a simple concept; you work with other brands and provide free product samples for them to send out with orders of their own products. For example, someone orders something from a popular online retail outlet and they receive a sample of your product as a free gift in their order. It’s a genius way of getting your products out there and seen/tested. If people like what they receive, they’re likely to do more research and visit your website.
Finally, you can partner with other businesses to promote yourself through them. As a basic example, let’s say you sell skincare products. You could partner with a leading beauty salon, where they promote and sell your products to their customers. It’s a mutually beneficial partnership as you both sort of promote each other.
Using other brands to your advantage is so smart as you ride on the back of their existing hype and reach. The key is to work with brands that have a similar audience to you, but that you aren’t directly competing with. This means that their audience is likely to be interested in what you offer, yet them buying your products won’t have a negative impact on the other brand. It’s a simple and highly effective way of promoting your products.
