How to Balance Multiple Passions
If you’re like me, you’ve probably got lots of different passions and some of them could be businesses. It’s a challenge to have lots of different brands, to run so many Instagram accounts but it’s also lots of fun!
I currently have 1 personal brand, as well as 9 different blogs I generate income from – more on that one later.
A Multi-passionate Business Owner
I wouldn’t recommend it to everybody, in fact, most online mentors say to concentrate on one thing at a time. I understand that but if you have something burning inside of you then give it a go – If you can handle it.
To be honest, I find it easy running multiple blogs every day. I have built up lots of experience in it over the years, and now I have a helpful team behind me. If you find it overwhelming having multiple accounts then you might want to wait until you can hire someone to help you with your multiple passions.
With my different brands, I have Gillian Sarah which is all about content creation and online business. I also love to share what I’m learning with my other brands on this account so to me, I can also help my clients by having an understanding of blogging and testing on other accounts.
There will also be times when your multiple passions are out of balance and one requires more attention. This is especially true if you are doing a launch.
For example, in the build-up to Christmas, e-com brands took more time as this is peak selling period, whereas things like finance content could slow down a little bit, ready for people who want to grow their businesses in the new year.
It’s not an exact science and some days you might wonder if it’s worth it but having multiple income streams is always beneficial. Plus if you have an idea which gets you excited to give it a try. If it doesn’t work or is too much for you, you can always pause it in the future.
Being multi-passionate can be challenging especially when creating different content and knowing what to say when someone asks you what you do! However, the rewards pay off in allowing yourself to be creative to go after your dreams and learn about different industries and topics.
