Sharon is the owner and founder of Hollow Hill Home, a candle and soon-to-be decor company based in the US. She came to me looking for a clean and modern home for her online store to showcase her amazing scented candles. We built her store with a mixture of WordPress, WooCommerce & Elementor so it's super easy for her to manage and update as her new company grows. I am very excited to show this off along with her lovely scented candles.
Tell me a bit about your business and what brought you to start it in the first place?
Hollow Hill Home is an online home decor shop. The goal I'm trying to achieve is that with each purchase my customers make, they feel a sense of cozy when they display it in their homes. I've always had a passion for being a ‘maker'……crafts, sewing and candle making. Candle making started out being a hobby… giving out candles as gifts for Bridal Showers, Birthdays and Christmas. It quickly turned into my passion and Hollow Hill Home was born.
What is one lesson that you wish you knew from the beginning?
Don't try to achieve too much too soon and to have patience and faith in yourself! The science behind candle making takes time. It took me 2 years to master it. Being self-taught, it was a lot of trial and a ton of errors. Give yourself some Grace…you'll get there.
What was your “AH-HA” moment that made you take the plunge into this business?
Having friends and family tell me how wonderful my Candles are and that I MUST sell them!
Out of all the amazing designers out there, why did you decide to work with us?
Instagram has so many great influencers and as I follow along with several of them, I was blown away by their stunning websites and blogs! They all had one thing in common…..Gillian Sarah!!
What was your favourite part of the design process?
My favorite part of the design process was watching the content of the site grow and come alive. I loved the gratification too that all the beautiful pictures on the site were styled, taken and edited by myself. It was a lot of work having so many images to shoot, but in the end, it's something I never knew I had the ability to do. The best part was watching how Gillian brought all these pictures to life on my Website. I am not tech savvy to say the least and am still a bit nervous going forward, but Gillian made me feel at ease by doing instructional videos that will set me up for success. The entire experience has been phenomenal! I've already recommended Gillian Sarah to Friends! I'm just so thrilled…I can't wait to show the world!
