Presenting the new Elevate Décor website. Elevate Décor is an event planning business based in the Metro DC area and they provide divine services for parties and gatherings. Working with Tolulope was a joy, especially since her gorgeous portfolio made it so easy to put together a cohesive website design. She opted for the Verona Showit website template, which we built her new site off. It fits her business so well, so only a few tweaks were required, mainly on the portfolio page. TELL ME A BIT ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS AND WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO START SINCERELY ELAINE IN THE FIRST PLACE?
Elevate Décor is a family-owned event design and styling boutique–we offer event planning, design, and styling services, custom balloons, and modern party décor for social and corporate events. The business started with Tolu Onadipe's (creative director and founder) passion for party and interior styling, keen eye for details, talent for the use of color, and love for timeless style.
WHAT IS ONE LESSON THAT YOU WISH YOU KNEW FROM THE BEGINNING?
One lesson I wish I knew from the beginning is the importance of crafting out a solid strategy for branding and website design at an early stage of the business.
WHAT WAS YOUR “AH-HA” MOMENT THAT MADE YOU TAKE THE PLUNGE INTO THIS BUSINESS?
The ah-ha moment was the continuous trust in me for party planning and styling help (as well as the desire for an additional stream of income).
OUT OF ALL THE AMAZING DESIGNERS OUT THERE, WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO WORK WITH US?
When it was time to consider a website for Elevate Décor and the business was not quite ready for a full custom design investment, I decided to go the semi-custom design route. After a lot of careful research, I was drawn to the Verona template by Gillian Sarah Designs. I loved the template design a lot and it was a great fit for the Elevate Décor Brand. A year passed by after the template purchase and with no website in sight, I finally connected with Gillian Sarah and voila, the website came to life!
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF THE DESIGN PROCESS?
The favorite part of the design process was Gillian's understanding, patience, and flexibility in working me to ensure we stayed on track, even when the copywriting was not quite finished. Whenever I was not quite sold on something, she made sure I was happy with the final look. We communicated well with each other while on two different time zones and it was sure an intensive week, but the end result speaks for itself.
