This Summer I teamed up with another Scottish web design company called Two Fentons. Together we created a website for “Beauty Therapy Trainer”, a Scotland based educator for all things beauty and therapy. This is a little different to the companies I normally work with, as you can probably tell from the colour palette alone. I provided the website design and installation of the store and it's functions, and they added in all of the course products and availability to the site.
In order to build the “Beauty Therapy Trainer” website, we used “The Pixie” theme as a starting point. Some sections like the portfolio were not required, so they were removed. And other section like the store were completely expanded on.
“Beauty Therapy Trainer” includes a very intricate course booking system. It lets you book courses on specific dates, and either pay in full or pay a deposit. It also lets you select if you would like your beauty kit included in the training package.
I love this project because it really showcases just what you can do with our WordPress themes. Not only can you change all of the colours and fonts to suit you, but you can also make some really cool expansions. They are super easy to customise and come with a full video walkthrough playlist on how to do so. All you need to do is pick your favourite layout and then change your text and images. “The Pixie” was originally a beige and teal template aimed towards a small online business, like a virtual assistant. And look at it now! You would never guess that this website was not hand-designed for “Beauty Therapy Trainer”! Amazing!!
