Why I switched over to Flodesk from Mailchimp

Mailchimp’s content creation process, I can only describe as “clunky”. The internet is not the most user-friendly, and even I (a techy person) sometimes get a little confused with where I am and what I’m doing next. In comparison, Flodesk is insanely user-friendly, allowing you to create an impactful email marketing campaign very quickly using beautiful ready-made templates.
Cost-Effectiveness
The price of marketing tools matters immensely, regardless of the size of your business. Mailchimp offers a free forever package, which is fantastic! But you will be charged as soon as you surpass 2,000 subscribers or 12,000 emails a month. Its pricing model is based on a smaller increment of 500 instead of either 1,000 or 10,000. This is a significant disadvantage for a fast-growing small business since the price of subscription price increases every time you increase your list by 500 people.
On the other hand, Flodesk offers users all the pre-made templates they need to grow the number of subscribers for a small fee. Regardless of the number of emails and subscribers, Flodesk will charge you a low flat-rate fee. Since you aspire to grow your business, you need to be supported instead of being penalized for growth.
Usability
In terms of usability, Mailchimp can be very confusing if you’re not savvy enough or if you are new to email marketing. This is in stark contrast to the seamless ease of use offered by Flodesk. For one, Flodesk’s clean and minimalist interface makes it easy for you to find and exploit all the features you need very quickly.
Delivery Speed
As a small business, you need to grab any available opportunities quickly. For you to beat the competition to the market, you need software that allows you to design highly targeted content quickly. Even though Mailchimp has hundreds of templates, they are not available unless you are on one of the “premium” subscriptions, and they are harder to populate. On the other hand, Flodesk offers a wide range of email templates that are completely free and designed impeccably to enhance the perceived value of your brand. Most importantly, Flodesk’s templates are fully brandable, ensuring that your credibility is protected. Flodesk’s library contains a wider variety of templates to fuel your inspiration and create content quickly that targets your subscribers more effectively.
Support
Technical issues or breakdowns are inevitable, which is why software developers provide technical support. Flodesk offers one of the quickest and most helpful support. As a Flodesk user, you can also get ideas and support from experts and experiences of like-minded creatives by joining the company’s Facebook Group. The group offers meaningful information to help you resolve any technical and non-technical problems quickly. In comparison, Mailchimp’s users always complain about delayed or lack of support. If you use Mailchimp, be prepared to wait for response and support for up to 48 hours. If technical problems affect the core functions of your business, a downtime of more than a day can be disastrous both in the short-run and long-term.
So far, I love Flodesk as a newsletter service. As they are still in beta-mode there are a few things that are still in the works, like automating RSS feeds into newsletters and stuff like that.

Thanks for your interesting blogpost about flodesk. I think about switching too, but I have a automated rss campaign in mailchimp. Does flodesk allow this meanwhile?
Flodesk does not currently support an RSS feed, however it is still in beta, meaning they are adding new features all of the time. I do know many people have requested it, so hopefully it will soon!
