Reading Time: 3 minutesWhen I first started learning about online business, I genuinely doubted if it was possible to make money from creating something myself. Everyone seemed to be shouting about how they day made £xxx & I wanted a piece of it!
It really is possible to create an income online. I believe in the power of creating your own products, to help build a brand & create an income.
Before you create anything, it’s important to do your research, understand the market & ask your community for feedback.
Printables are a fantastic way to get started with creating products. A printable tends to be digital but you can create a physical version. These come in the form of a document, guide, template or workbook which you can sell.
To get started, I recommend going for a digital printable to help you test the market.
Once you have created your document, you can set these up on your website or a marketplace like Etsy. Once everything is set up, this turns into an automated process.
You receive the order & the customer is emailed their printable to print out & use at home – It’s simple!
I love online courses, I love taking them & I love teaching them! Online courses are a way for you to step up as the expert in your field & teach your audience something you know about but they don’t.
For your first course, keep it simple. Have a focus on what you will be sharing & stick to it. A lot of people put too much information into their courses which can make it overwhelming.
You can create a course about practically anything!
I would recommend using a course hosting platform for your course. For my course, create a printables business from scratch, I use Kajabi. Once you have put all your information together either through videos, presentation or downloadable workbooks (a mixture of all of these works well), then Kajabi will do the rest.
Once your student pays, Kajabi send them all the login details, send you your payment & your student can start learning!
A physical product can be the trickiest to get started quickly but it can also be really rewarding. If you’ve already got a product idea, great jump in & create it!
If you know what product you want to create then you can either make it yourself or find someone to make it for you. To start with I would recommend shipping items yourself until you get enough sales to work with a fulfilment centre.
If you don’t have an idea ready to go, then using a Print on Demand service might be a good start to test the water & try different products. Once you have a design, you can use them to print it onto different items such as t-shirts or mugs.
You can set up your shop on Shopify & integrate it with your printer. Then when an order comes in, they will print the items & ship on your behalf.
Which business idea are you thinking of implementing? Let me know, I’d love to see you take an idea & bring it life through a product!
