Tell me a bit about your business and what brought you to start it in the first place?
Home Decor and Design has always been my passion. For years I've treated it as a hobby. When my husband and I began to flip houses (and eventual landlords), a blog seemed like a natural extension of documenting the processes. It has just been in the last few years I've begun to take it seriously, and now that it's my full-time job, I want the blog to be cohesive and truly reflect our home and what we are doing.
What is one lesson that you wish you knew from the beginning?
Set yourself up for success early on. Pay for professionals to help with the things you would have to learn from start to finish. You will have enough to do without having to try to learn and do it all yourself.
What was your “AH-HA” moment that made you take the plunge into this business?
I didn't have an AH-HA moment but rather a series of.
Out of all the amazing designers out there, why did you decide to work with us?
I saw a few of the other blogs Gillian had designed, and they were beautiful and didn't feel cookie-cutter but very personalized. So that was my goal to have something feel just a little more me.
What was your favourite part of the design process?
Seeing the early mood board and everything coming together made my heart happy! I have to admit that I was kitchen dancing on more than one occasion!!
