Do you have a niche for your blog or business? I believe a niche is vital to help you stand out. For example, you might know that your blog is about beauty or your business sells products but have you dived deeper?
Once you are clear on your niche, your audience will be clear too. For example, if one of your Instagram followers were to tell their friends about your account, how would you want them to describe your content?
I used to be scared of having a niche in case I wanted to talk about something else but what I realized is you can create your own niche!
Your niche doesn’t have to be the same as everyone else. For example, what do you enjoy in life & would love to talk about? This can be part of your niche.
Create your own niche
Once you have 4 or 5 topics you feel confident you want to talk about, create content around & be known for, you can start to build these into your strategy.
Of course, if your topics overlap, this is a bonus, but they don’t have to.
The key is you need to own the content you create & the topics you talk about.
Having your unique topics, creating content around them & consistently sharing this content will help grow your brand. It is also clear to people what you are all about when they visit your social media channels or your website.
Here are a few examples of content creators I follow who do this well:
A business coach specializing in female empowerment, body positivity & being a mum.
A fashion blogger who also includes topics about travel, weddings & makeup.
A marketing specialist who teaches Instagram stories, self-love & meditation.
A personal trainer who also creates content about travel, happiness, health & wine.
As you can see, some of these compliment each other but not all of them. Therefore, I challenge you to pick your topics, create your niche & start sharing content consistently around these for the next 6 months. Are you ready for the challenge?
