Happy employees are those who are the most productive. If you aren't offering your employees the right benefits, they won’t work as well as they could and their productivity levels are going to sink down faster than ever! When it comes to employee happiness, you want people feeling excited to come to work, which means that not only do you need to work on your culture, you need to work on the benefits you are offering, too.

When it comes down to it, it’s all about making the staff who work for you feel seen and appreciated. For example, installing playground equipment into the courtyard of your office is a great way to be family-friendly because staff that need to come into the office will appreciate being able to give their children somewhere to play. Some companies offer a full daycare service and if you can do that, you will encourage people to feel happier in the office. Not every company worries too much about the parents in the business, but if you are one of them and you care about your employees being happy, here are four benefits that you should offer:

1. Autonomy. You wouldn't think that this is a benefit but autonomy is a huge selling point when you are hiring new people. Nobody likes to be micromanaged, and if you can tell people that they would be able to work for your company at their own pace at their own time, you’re going to have a relaxed happy employee who is happy to work for you. All you need to do is let people know what needs to be done and when the deadline is and they will be happy to work.
2. Development opportunities. That’s not development is a big selling point for any business. It shows that you are willing to invest in your employees even if it means that one day they take these new opportunities and go somewhere else with them. Not only does providing employees with the right opportunity to learn benefit them, it also but if it’s you. The more they know the better they work.
3. Healthcare options. With health care costs on the rise, your employees are always going to be happy to know that they have discounted healthcare with you. Employees really care about having good health coverage, and as an employer you would want your staff to have fewer incidence of absences and better health so that they can work harder. Offering benefits like dental and visual benefits are going to help you as an employer to be regarded as one to work for.
4. Unlimited paid time off. It doesn’t matter where you are in the world, it’s ridiculous to think that we work every single week of the year with maybe two weeks off if we’re lucky. Many employers are changing over to an unlimited paid time off system. Contrary to popular belief, people aren’t taking advantage of this – they are working with about 3 to 4 weeks worth of annual leave per year. If you want people to work happy and work relaxed, annual leave is something to consider
