Reading Time: 3 minutes

After hours of researching, writing, and editing, your blog is finally ready for publishing. You excitedly hit the “Publish” button, and now, your blog post is live on your website, ready to be read and loved by your followers.
The job’s done, right?
Hardly. Unless you’re blogging for fun and not for business, there are other things that you need to do to make the most out of your hard work!
If you want to make money out of your blog, you need to consider how the blog looks on various screens, where and how to promote your blogs and spread the word about your latest content to get people talking. After hitting the publish button, work on these five things for best results:
Create Copies for Social Media
Everyone and their mother is on social media – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc. and these are the best places to let people know about your latest content. To do this right, you need to dig deeper at your followers’ demographics and then learn which social media platforms are the most popular in that specific age group.
Create copies that connect with your followers (brief description with hashtags, snippets, or teasers) and then start posting the copies on your social media. Share a link to the blog post. Be sure that the copies are optimized for the corresponding platform.
For example, if most of your followers are on Pinterest, upload the blog’s pictures on Pinterest and start adding these to your boards for clicks and repins. If your target audience is on Facebook, write short shoutouts with a link to your latest blog. If you’re promoting on Twitter and Facebook, use hashtags. If you’re promoting on IG and Pinterest, use the right image size.
Give Subscribers a Heads Up
Don’t just let your latest blog post sit idly on your website and hope that followers will read it; let people know about your newest content! You can email your subscribers to give them a heads up about your latest blog post. Trust us; they’ll appreciate the heads up. Your email notification should have:
- An interesting title
- A link to the newest blog post
- A short description (reasons why they NEED to read your newest blog post)
- Highlights of the blog in bullet form
- A clear call to action
Finish up with a nice image to convince people that your newest content deserves a click and you’re good to go.
Keep Engagement Up
If your marketing efforts are paying off and people are starting to talk about your latest blog in the comments section or on social media, go and engage with your readers. Ask questions, answer their questions, give your take on others’ insights — essentially, reply to the comments. Don’t leave generic, general responses. Take time to write each one and provide thoughtful answers.
Engagement on social media and the comments section has positive effects on your SEO and search rankings. If you can, remove any comments that are not relevant to the content. Answer comments that are related to the blog post and encourage other readers to join the conversation.
Optimize that ‘Ish
To ensure your latest blog post’s longevity, you need to optimize it for SEO. this is the only way to ensure long-term searchability and maximum value for your business! Several well-placed keywords in the title, metadata, images, and the blog post’s body are enough to increase your blog post’s visibility outside your website. We recommend adding internal links and using a plugin that highlights related content on the blog page so that interested readers could click on these links, which helps spread the traffic on other pages.
Influence the Influencers?
As a final touch, look for ways to gain a wider viewership. If you’re a part of a blogger group forum, try informing the members about your newest content. The only thing to remember is to NEVER SPAM the group with a link to your latest blog. You can send a direct message to the influencers or let your blogger friends know about your newest content.
Of course, you have to build a relationship with influencers and market leaders before asking them to check your website out. Thankfully, most influencers are willing to reciprocate their marketing efforts by giving a shout-out on their social media or website.
Now rinse and repeat! By ticking these five things off your list every time you’ve published your latest blog, your business will get maximum exposure!
